Every avid holiday movie-watcher enjoys a great classic. One of my favorites, specifically around the holidays, is about a young boy named Kevin McAllister, who defends his suburban Chicago home, from a pair of nasty robbers after his family “accidentally” leaves him behind on their Christmas vacation to Paris. One favorite part that always gets a good belly laugh out of me - is when Kevin sets up the proverbial traps and the hassle that he goes through to ensure that the robbers don’t get in. Everyone wants an experience like that, right?
In downtown Greenville, South Carolina, a historic hotel by the name of the Western Poinsett, is offering guests the chance to live out Kevin’s wildest dreams. The package includes what organizers call a “luxurious suite,” to start your Home Alone movie marathon. From having ice cream sundaes delivered to your room provided by The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar & Ice Cream Shop, enjoying a two-hour limousine ride from Eastside Transportation around town gazing at Christmas lights, to enjoying cheese pizza from Sidewall Pizza before heading to the ice skating rink on Ice On Main, and lastly, enjoying a shopping spree at “the coolest toy store on the planet (O.P. Taylor’s.) Guests are sure to enjoy not only an experience, but memories to last a lifetime.
According to the website, visitGreenvilleSC.com, the experience will begin on November 25th- and ends on January 6th. The Western Poinsett is located on 120 S Main Street, downtown Greenville.
